I can safely say, for the most part, this year sucked. This year was really hard for me. I started off having to make pretty much the biggest decision of my life-where I would go to college, and money was kind of dictating that decision. I had really wanted to be a New York City girl, but since I didn't get in to Columbia, and I'm poor, i ended up in Fredonia. At the time it was not my ideal situation. I spent a lot of time fighting with my parents about college too. About how much I was talking to them, about how often I was coming home (which was minimal and the way I wanted it), how I was spending my time, how I never talked about studying, how only talked about my 'nerd' clubs. I had to get rid of some friends because they were toxic to my life. I fought with some really close friends and almost lost them. I've had my heart broken, and I have spent way too many nights up late, doubting myself in every way possible. I've wanted to change majors, worried about money, felt completely alone, felt overcrowded, and utterly lost. I really am totally ready for this year to be over.
That in mind, this year wasn't all bad. I ended up in probably the best posisble place for an Education major, as well as a giant nerd. I've made some fantastic new friends who I am so thankful for and absolutely love and miss terribly right now. I found out who really matters in my life, the people who have stuck by me, checked up on me when i posted angry stuff on facebook, bought me starbucks when I've had a bad day, sent a text just to say hi, showed up in Fredonia unexpectedly and those that lept me sane everytime I thought I was really about to lose it. I joined clubs where I fit in and made most of my friends and started playing Quidditch. And I moved out and started kind of living on my own.
A lot of things got me through, like my awesome suitemates who would do anything for me at the drop of a hat, my friends who always know what to say to snap me out of it, Quidditch and Nerf, Harry Potter, my music, writing, and those nights where all I needed was to put on some nice clothes and strut around like I owned the place. I also have discovered my love for The expanded Star Wars universe and rekindled my love affair with the Sith. I have found myself, whenever I'm stressed, upset or at a loss reciting the creed. Peace is a lie, there is only Passion. Through Passion I gain Strength. Through Strength I gain Victory. Through Victory my chains are broken.
Next year. 2012. I don't know if the world is ready for me next year. They might need more time to prepare. Because I'm not taking any shit anymore from anymore. I'm out to kick ass, always. To take my life into my own hands. To take a chance. Fall in love with the wrong person. Live on the edge, break the rules (well, more rules) becuase if not now when? College is my time to discover the world and myself. So it's time to make some mistakes, take some chances and enjoy everything I can. I'm going to drink up every experience, every oppurtunity, and leave myself nothing to regret. 2012 will be my "no holds barred" year because if this world really ends next Decemeber, at least I'll have had some fun.

I Heart Sponteniety....Most of the Time
Today I spent the afternoon with my lovely friend Taylor. We had nothing actually planned, and we decided to just wing it, which started off as a really good idea. We went to the mall, looked at shirts and nerdy comic book/dr.who stuff we want to buy for when we dorm together next year and got some food to eat and we were having a grand time. But we were running out of things to do at the mall and trying to figure out what else we could do. Some genius decided it would be a great idea to go up to Niagra Falls.
Quick side note: here in Western New York the weather has actually been half way decent so far this winter. It's been a bit rainy, but not as cold as usual and no signifigant snow yet this year. I was like fifty degrees and sunny here on Christmas (three days ago).
Well, appearantly, winter decided to show up today. The wind was freezing, snow was flurry-ing and it was a very breif visit to the falls themselves cuz it was just too damn cold, as pretty as it was. So we decided to head to the Hard Rock Cafe to get something to warm up.
We got the brownie sundae.
I never said it was the greatest idea I've ever had. But it was still fun :) So, as much as I love just going and doing things without any planning, next time Taylor and I are going to plan better. Like scarfs, and underarmor, and knee socks, and WARM clothes so we can enjoy the beauty in our back yard, and take pictures and maybe make a video for my vlog!
One more quick thing!!

Back In Business
Soooo, I got quite sidetracked last semester and stopped posting and its been driving me crazy. But I'm back! And I should have/make plenty of time for this now because I want to.
My Christmas (and birthday) were lovely. I got lots of new clothes, the new Evanescence and We Camr As Romans cds, a new nerf gun and enough ammo for a small army. It will be getting modded shortly.
Being home is kind of driving me CRAZY though. I' not used to being in the house all day, not being able to have all kinds of people around all the time, not having Starbuck, or Comic Culture Forum, or shooting people (no Nerfing in the house) and not walking every time I want to eat. I have all kinds of pent up energy, and a little bit of pent up aggression. I miss wearing clothes other than pjs and work clothes. Needless to say I can't wait to be back on campus. 25 more days.

Monday Fashion Tip
It's Monday everybody! And you know what that means- it's time for our second fashion tip! And since fall has set in with an iron grip I know exactly what the best tip would be.
LAYERS LAYERS LAYERS
Layer everything! Take your favorite sundress and put a t-shirt under it or a sweater over and a pair of tights. Longsleeved shirts inder t-shirts, tights under shorts, sweaters over anything. Don't despair-just because fall is here, all your summer clothes don't have to go away yet.

A sad, rainy day in Fredonia
So, a lot has happened since i last posted. Like a lot a lot. It's amazing how much can happen in four days.
First of all I am sick. Like with the worst cold ever. It's really like terrible. I somehow seem to be getting worse in the week since I came down with it. And it is impeding my going to Quidditch practice, which is evil.
Second, the weather is suddenly very miserable here. like forty degrees and raining. The heat is on in the dorms and everything. I went from wearing shorts and t-shirts most days to multiple layers today. Luckily it's supposed to warm up later this week....
Next I want to talk about Quidditch. I absolutely fucking love playing Quidditch. It is the most intense thing I have done in a really long time and everybody on the team is so awesome that it makes me kind of sad that my first post about them has to contain some sad news. My team is registered to play at the Quidditch World Cup in NYC in November but our fundraising didn't do as much as we'd hoped it would so we could only take eleven people and unfortunately I am not among those selected to go. But it's okay really cuz i don't have the money really and i really shouldn't miss my classes that weekend. And I'm still gonna go to practice everyday (when I'm no longer sick) and play in all the scrimmages and games (We will take U of R down!) It's amazing, really. I'm so glad I get to be involved.
Also, new clothes! I love getting new clothes. I needed them because I start observing in the classroom tuesday and we have to dress professionally. so i got some new blouses and tights and a pair of grey pants and these adorable black shoes. Made my weekend :)
I think that's all the important stuff. I will be spending my whole half week of class studying hard for my exams and trying not to be sick any more. Fashion tip tmro!

Pottermore!
So, after several months of waiting I finally got my Hogwarts acceptance letter (aka my Pottermore email). And after several painstaking hours of annoyance and a lot of yelling onsenities at my poor little netbook, I made it to Diagon Alley to get my wand (English oak, dragon core, 12 inches, unbending) my owl (a tawny owl I have yet to name-I am open to suggestions) and progressed to Hogwarts where I sorted (perfectly) into SLYTHERIN! while i was watching glee last night. I could not have had a better night :)
I would like to voice my disappointment with Pottermore that it is not nearly as awesome as everyone was hyping it up to be. I enjoy it but i will not waste nearly as much time as I orginally thought I would on there. Especially because there are far too many people on ALL THE TIME and I keep basically getting kicked off the site.
And a quick word about GLEE- I was very torn last night between Blaine and Kurt, but Blaine is totally gonna get the part of Tony. He's too perfect. And I miss hipster Quinn already.

My First Monday Fashion Tip
Welcome to my blog! I'm really excited to start doing this. First a little about what I'm going to write about. I'm a first year college student and often times fashion goes out the window for the convenience of throwing on a pair of sweatpants and a boring t-shirt before your eight am class. I'm not really okay with that. Fashion is not as hard as it seems. And I'm here to help everyone realize that, and combine it with their nerdy side.
Which leads me to my first tip. When wearing one of your favorite superhero t-shirts, instead of pairing it with jeans, put on a skirt and some hightops instead. It takes less effort to put on a skirt than it does to put on pants, and you'll look hotter. Try this tip just once this week and you'll see how easy it is to be fashionable.
